Ridley Feed Ingredient lead maintenance/electrician Paul Truckenbrod has worked at the Mendota plant for 35+ years. Paul and Patricia, our office accounting clerk have a combined 70+ years working here at our plant. They have two children, Brandi and Nathan. Daughter, Brandi and her husband Tyler Hofstatter currently reside in Ames, Iowa where they work and attend Iowa State University. Brandi is a senior working towards a B.S. in Animal Science. Tyler is finishing up a Bachelor’s degree and currently in the Pre-Vet program. Tyler plans to continue his education at ISU and become a veterinarian. Son Nathan is a freshman this year at Mendota High School.
For over 50 years, Paul Truckenbrod has raised and shown purebred Shorthorn cattle. His family’s business (Truckenbrod Farm) has grown by leaps and bounds through the years because Paul and his family put their hearts and souls into the production of great cattle. This pride, in itself, is reward enough. However, the family was blessed with a magnificent accomplishment recently as their bull, TF Shooter, was named an “All-American” at the American Shorthorn Association. To become an “All-American” an animal must claim their fame by earning points at different P.A.C.E. (Points Accumulation Certified Event) shows across the country in a given year. The higher the animal places at each show, the more points they accumulate. TF Shooter was named Reserve Champion Bred & Owned Bull at the Shorthorn Junior National in Kansas City, Missouri and Grand Champion Shorthorn Bull at the Illinois State Fair in Springfield. These were only two of the many shows he won or placed high in. Paul raised this bull as a calf from birth in November of 2006 and he now is the most valuable animal on the Truckenbrod Farm. The family has sold TF Shooter semen to producers across the country. I think it is safe to say that all of his hard work shows and is continuing to pay off. This proves to be one of many accomplishments Paul Truckenbrod and his family plan to pursue throughout the purebred livestock industry.
Thank you to the Truckenbrod’s for what they do for RFI and Good Luck to them in all of their future endeavors.
